Meatloaf

A classic meatloaf recipe featuring traditional ingredients, delivering a comforting and hearty meal perfect for family dinners.

  • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 cup ketchup (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, and thyme.
  3. Mix all ingredients gently until just combined; avoid overmixing.
  4. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking pan.
  5. Spread the topping ketchup evenly over the meatloaf.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes or until the meatloaf is cooked through and internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  7. Allow the meatloaf to rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add chopped fresh parsley to the mixture or serve with mashed potatoes and steamed green beans.
