Slow Cooker Mashed Potatoes

Creamy and perfectly tender slow cooker mashed potatoes, ideal for an effortless and comforting side dish that pairs well with any meal.

  • 3 pounds Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place diced potatoes and minced garlic into the slow cooker.
  2. Pour chicken broth over the potatoes, then cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until potatoes are very tender.
  3. Drain any excess liquid if needed.
  4. Add butter, milk, salt, and pepper to the slow cooker.
  5. Mash the potatoes directly in the slow cooker until smooth and creamy.
  6. Adjust seasoning to taste and serve warm.

Notes

For fluffier potatoes, stir in a splash of cream or sour cream before serving. Adding roasted garlic can also enhance the flavor.
