Orange Blossom Pisces Cake

A fragrant and moist citrus cake infused with delicate orange blossom water, perfect for a light dessert or afternoon treat.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons orange blossom water
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • ½ cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the orange zest, orange blossom water, and vanilla extract.
  6. Alternately add the dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  7. Pour in the orange juice and gently fold it into the batter.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  9. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before serving.

Notes

For an extra burst of flavor, drizzle a simple orange glaze on top made from powdered sugar and fresh orange juice.
