Mississippi Chicken is a flavorful, slow-cooked dish featuring tender chicken smothered in a buttery ranch gravy with pepperoncini peppers. This easy recipe delivers a deliciously tangy and savory meal perfect for any weeknight.

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix (1 oz)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
  • 8 pepperoncini peppers, drained
  • 1/4 cup pepperoncini juice
  • 8 slices pepper jack cheese or mozzarella cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken breasts in a slow cooker.
  2. Sprinkle the ranch seasoning evenly over the chicken.
  3. Place the butter on top of the chicken breasts in small slices.
  4. Arrange the pepperoncini peppers over the chicken.
  5. Pour the pepperoncini juice over everything in the slow cooker.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours, or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and cooked through.
  7. About 10 minutes before serving, place the slices of cheese over the chicken and let it melt.
  8. Serve the Mississippi Chicken over rice, mashed potatoes, or with crusty bread to soak up the flavorful sauce.
