This Lazy Lasagna Skillet is a quick, comforting one-pan meal that combines all the classic flavors of traditional lasagna without the fuss of layering or baking. Perfect for a hearty weeknight dinner with minimal cleanup.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (24-ounce) jar marinara sauce
  • 2 cups water
  • 8 ounces uncooked lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add diced onion and cook until translucent, about 3 minutes.
  2. Add ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and cooked through.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in marinara sauce and water, then add broken lasagna noodles. Stir to combine.
  5. Sprinkle dried oregano, salt, and black pepper into the skillet. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
  6. Cover and cook over medium-low heat for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until noodles are tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
  7. Dollop ricotta cheese evenly over the noodles, then sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
  8. Cover again and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired, then serve warm.

Notes

For an extra cheesy twist, stir in some shredded Parmesan or mozzarella before serving, and pair with a crisp green salad for a complete meal.
