  • 1 cup milk
  • 6 cups cubed day-old bread
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled breakfast sausage
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dried mustard powder
  • 1 tbsp butter (for greasing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with butter.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and mustard powder.
  3. Add cubed bread, shredded cheese, cooked sausage, and green onions to the egg mixture. Stir gently to combine.
  4. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  5. Bake uncovered for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is set.
  6. Remove from oven and let sit for 5 minutes before serving.
