Deviled Eggs

Classic deviled eggs feature creamy, tangy yolk filling in perfectly boiled egg whites, making for an easy and delicious appetizer or snack.

Ingredients

  • 6 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Paprika, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Place eggs in a single layer in a saucepan and cover with water by 1 inch.
  2. Bring water to a boil over medium-high heat, then cover, remove from heat, and let sit for 12 minutes.
  3. Drain and transfer eggs to a bowl of ice water to cool for 5 minutes.
  4. Peel eggs and slice them in half lengthwise.
  5. Remove yolks and place them in a medium bowl; mash with a fork.
  6. Add mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, white vinegar, salt, and pepper; mix until smooth.
  7. Fill egg whites evenly with yolk mixture using a spoon or piping bag.
  8. Sprinkle paprika on top for garnish and serve chilled.

Notes

For a bit of extra zest, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or swap Dijon mustard for spicy brown mustard.
