Meatballs

Classic, juicy meatballs made with a blend of beef and pork, seasoned with herbs and spices, perfect as a main dish or a flavorful appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb ground pork
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, garlic, onion, parsley, egg, milk, salt, pepper, and oregano.
  2. Mix gently until all ingredients are well incorporated, being careful not to overwork the meat.
  3. Shape the mixture into 1 1/2 inch meatballs and place them on a baking sheet.
  4. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  5. Cook meatballs in batches, turning occasionally, until evenly browned on all sides and cooked through, about 10-12 minutes.
  6. Remove meatballs from the skillet and drain on paper towels before serving.

Notes

For a saucier option, simmer the cooked meatballs in marinara sauce for an additional 10 minutes before serving.
