  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup salsa (mild or spicy, based on preference)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: Fresh cilantro for garnish
  • Optional: 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken breasts into the crock pot in a single layer.
  2. Pour the salsa evenly over the chicken.
  3. Sprinkle ground cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper on top.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is fully cooked and tender.
  5. Carefully shred the chicken inside the crock pot using two forks and mix with the salsa juices.
  6. Optional: Sprinkle shredded cheese on top and cover for an additional 5 minutes to melt.
  7. Serve warm, garnished with fresh cilantro if desired, over rice, in tacos, or with a side of vegetables.
