Cottage Cheese Tzatziki Dip

This Cottage Cheese Tzatziki Dip is a creamy, healthy twist on the classic Greek sauce, blending low-fat cottage cheese with fresh cucumber and herbs for a refreshing and protein-packed appetizer or snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup low-fat cottage cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated cucumber, excess moisture squeezed out
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon plain Greek yogurt (optional, for creamier texture)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cucumber by grating it and squeezing out excess moisture using a clean kitchen towel or paper towels.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the cottage cheese, grated cucumber, minced garlic, and fresh dill.
  3. Add the lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and black pepper to the mixture.
  4. Mix all ingredients thoroughly until well combined and creamy. For a smoother texture, you may fold in the plain Greek yogurt.
  5. Cover and refrigerate the dip for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  6. Serve chilled as a dip with pita bread, fresh vegetables, or as a sauce for grilled meats.

Notes

For an extra burst of flavor, garnish with a drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of fresh dill before serving. This dip also pairs wonderfully with grilled chicken or as a spread on sandwiches.
