Reuben Sandwich

The Reuben Sandwich is a classic American deli favorite made with corned beef, tangy sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and Russian dressing grilled between slices of rye bread. This hearty sandwich offers a perfect balance of savory, tangy, and creamy flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 slices rye bread
  • 3 oz sliced corned beef
  • 2 tbsp sauerkraut, drained
  • 2 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1 tbsp Russian dressing
  • 1 tbsp butter, softened

Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Spread Russian dressing on one side of each slice of rye bread.
  3. Layer one slice with corned beef, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese, then top with the other slice of bread, dressing side down.
  4. Butter the outer sides of the sandwich evenly.
  5. Place the sandwich in the skillet and grill until the bread is golden brown and the cheese melts, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  6. Remove from heat, slice in half, and serve warm.

Notes

For an extra crispy sandwich, press it gently with a spatula while cooking. Serve with dill pickles and your favorite chips on the side.
