  • 6 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Rub the chicken thighs evenly with the spice mixture.
  4. Place the chicken thighs on a baking sheet lined with foil or parchment paper.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven and brush the chicken thighs generously with barbecue sauce.
  7. Return to oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  8. For extra caramelization, broil for 2-3 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning.
  9. Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  10. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired and serve.
