20-Minute Beef Broccoli

This quick and flavorful 20-Minute Beef Broccoli dish combines tender beef and crisp broccoli in a savory sauce, perfect for a healthy weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup beef broth or water
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, beef broth, sugar, and a pinch of pepper. Stir well and set aside.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced beef and stir-fry until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove beef from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add garlic and ginger; sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  4. Add broccoli florets and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp.
  5. Return the beef to the skillet and pour in the sauce mixture. Stir everything together and cook for another 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens and coats the beef and broccoli.
  6. Drizzle with sesame oil, adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed, and serve hot.

Notes

For extra flavor, serve over steamed jasmine rice or garnish with toasted sesame seeds. You can also swap flank steak for thinly sliced chicken or tofu.
