  • 1 pound mixed mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (or more, to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add sliced mushrooms and cook, stirring occasionally, until they release their moisture and begin to brown (about 5-7 minutes).
  3. Add minced garlic, red pepper flakes, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using) to the skillet. Cook for 1 minute, until fragrant.
  4. Stir in soy sauce and lemon juice. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to reduce slightly.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Stir in chopped fresh parsley.
  7. Serve immediately.

Notes

Serve these spicy mushrooms over toast, pasta, steak, or as a side dish to grilled chicken. For extra richness, add a tablespoon of butter at the end of cooking.
