Pumpkin Spice Flan

Pumpkin Spice Flan

This Pumpkin Spice Flan is a creamy, decadent dessert infused with warm autumn flavors. A smooth custard base is perfectly complemented by the comforting spices of pumpkin pie, making it an ideal treat for the fall season.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 (12 ounce) can evaporated milk
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar and water. Cook, without stirring, until sugar dissolves and turns into a golden caramel. Carefully pour caramel into the bottom of a 9-inch round baking pan.
  3. In a blender, combine evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, pumpkin puree, eggs, vanilla extract, and pumpkin pie spice. Blend until smooth.
  4. Pour the pumpkin mixture over the caramel in the baking pan.
  5. Cover the baking pan tightly with aluminum foil. Place the pan inside a larger baking dish and add hot water to the larger dish until it reaches halfway up the sides of the flan pan (water bath).
  6. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean.
  7. Remove from oven and let cool completely. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight.
  8. To serve, run a knife around the edge of the flan to loosen it. Invert onto a serving plate. Drizzle with any remaining caramel from the pan.

Notes

For an extra touch of flavor, garnish with a dollop of whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon before serving.
