Hearty Mississippi Beef and Noodles

This Mississippi Beef and Noodles recipe is the ultimate comfort food! Tender beef and egg noodles simmered in a creamy, flavorful gravy. A family favorite!

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs chuck roast, cut into 2-inch cubes
  • 1 packet ranch dressing mix
  • 1 packet au jus gravy mix
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 (12 ounce) jar pepperoncini peppers, with juice
  • 1 (12 ounce) bag egg noodles
  • 4 cups beef broth

Instructions

  1. Place chuck roast cubes in a slow cooker.
  2. Sprinkle ranch dressing mix and au jus gravy mix over the beef.
  3. Add butter and pepperoncini peppers with juice.
  4. Cook on low for 8-10 hours, or on high for 4-5 hours, until beef is very tender.
  5. Shred the beef with two forks.
  6. In a large pot, bring beef broth to a boil.
  7. Add egg noodles and cook according to package directions.
  8. Stir in the shredded beef and gravy from the slow cooker.
  9. Simmer for 15 minutes, or until the noodles are tender and the sauce has thickened.
  10. Serve hot.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use bone-in chuck roast. You can also add vegetables like carrots, celery, and onions to the slow cooker.
