Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, grated ginger, minced garlic, water, and cornstarch. Set aside.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the ground beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned and cooked through, breaking it up with a spatula. Remove beef from skillet and set aside.
  4. Add remaining 1 tablespoon vegetable oil to the skillet. Add broccoli florets and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until crisp-tender.
  5. Return the cooked ground beef to the skillet with the broccoli.
  6. Give the honey garlic sauce a quick stir and pour it into the skillet. Cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens and coats the beef and broccoli, about 2-3 minutes.
  7. Remove from heat and drizzle with sesame oil. Toss to combine.
  8. Garnish with sesame seeds if desired and serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.

Notes

For added crunch and color, toss in sliced bell peppers or shredded carrots along with the broccoli. Serve over jasmine rice or quinoa for a filling meal.
