Homemade Pumpkin Bread

This Homemade Pumpkin Bread is moist, warmly spiced, and bursting with pumpkin flavor. Perfect for breakfast, dessert, or a cozy snack on a cool day.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine sugar, oil, eggs, and pumpkin puree. Mix well.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Stir in chopped walnuts, if desired.
  6. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  7. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Serve warm with a dollop of cream cheese frosting or a sprinkle of powdered sugar.
