Crispy Funnel Cake Bites

These bite-sized funnel cakes are a quick and easy treat, perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth! Fried to golden perfection and dusted with powdered sugar, they’re a delightful mini version of the classic carnival favorite.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, egg, and vanilla extract.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and whisk until just combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep pot or skillet to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Carefully drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil, being careful not to overcrowd the pan.
  6. Fry for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Remove the funnel cake bites with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  8. Dust generously with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Serve immediately while warm for the best taste. You can also add a drizzle of chocolate sauce or a dollop of whipped cream for an extra treat!
