Perfect Taco Bell Meat Recipe

Uncover the secrets to making Taco Bell-style seasoned ground beef at home! These 7 tips will help you achieve that iconic flavor and texture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
  2. Add chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, oregano, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and black pepper to the skillet.
  3. Stir well to combine the spices with the ground beef.
  4. Pour in the water and bring to a simmer.
  5. Reduce heat to low and cook for 15-20 minutes, or until the liquid has evaporated and the beef is nicely seasoned. Stir occasionally.
  6. Use in your favorite Taco Bell-inspired recipes like tacos, burritos, or nachos.

Notes

Adjust the amount of cayenne pepper to your preferred level of spiciness. For a more authentic Taco Bell flavor, use a finer grind of ground beef.
