Funnel Cake

Traditional funnel cake is a popular fried dessert featuring a light, crispy dough drizzled in a swirling pattern and dusted with powdered sugar. Perfect for fairs, festivals, or a sweet treat at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola oil)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. In another bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, whisking until the batter is smooth and free of lumps.
  4. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large deep skillet to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Pour batter into a funnel, piping bag, or squeeze bottle.
  6. Hold the funnel over the hot oil and drizzle the batter in a circular, swirling pattern to form the cake.
