Date Brownies

Deliciously fudgy date brownies made with natural sweetness from dates and rich chocolate flavor, perfect for a wholesome dessert or snack.

  • 1 cup pitted dates
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8 inch baking pan.
  2. In a food processor, blend the pitted dates until they form a sticky paste.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the applesauce, eggs, melted coconut oil, and vanilla extract.
  4. Add the date paste to the wet ingredients and mix until well combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, sift together the almond flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  7. Stir in the dark chocolate chips if using.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean.
  10. Allow the brownies to cool completely before slicing and serving.

Notes

For an extra indulgent treat, serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of almond butter.
