Homemade Crockpot BBQ Chicken on a White Plate

This Crockpot BBQ Chicken recipe is the easiest way to get flavorful, tender chicken for sandwiches, salads, or even on its own! Simply toss the ingredients in your slow cooker and let it work its magic.

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand)
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Place chicken breasts in the bottom of a slow cooker.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  3. Pour sauce mixture over the chicken, ensuring it’s fully coated.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or on high for 3-4 hours, or until chicken is easily shredded with a fork.
  5. Remove chicken from the slow cooker and shred using two forks.
  6. Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker and stir to coat with the sauce.
  7. Serve on buns, over rice, or in salads.

Notes

For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the sauce. Serve with your favorite coleslaw and pickles for a classic BBQ sandwich.
