Crispy Chilli Beef is a flavorful and spicy Asian-inspired dish featuring tender beef strips fried to a perfect crisp and tossed in a tangy chilli sauce, perfect for a quick and satisfying dinner.

  • 500g beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp cornflour
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red chilli, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp ginger, grated
  • 2 spring onions, sliced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Coat the beef strips evenly with cornflour and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Fry the beef in batches until golden and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per batch. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add garlic, ginger, and red chilli; sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Add bell pepper and cook for another 2 minutes until slightly tender.
  6. Mix soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, and sesame oil in a small bowl and pour into the skillet.
  7. Return the crispy beef to the skillet and toss well to coat in the sauce.
  8. Cook for another 2 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  9. Garnish with spring onions and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra heat, add sliced fresh chilli or a dash of chilli flakes. Serve with steamed jasmine rice or noodles for a complete meal.
