This Chicken Cordon Bleu Casserole combines tender chicken, ham, and Swiss cheese in a creamy sauce for a comforting and easy baked meal everyone will love.

  • 3 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 cup diced cooked ham
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 1/2 cups breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until bubbly.
  3. Gradually whisk in milk, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, and cook until thickened, about 5 minutes.
  4. Remove sauce from heat and stir in 1/2 cup Swiss and 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese until melted.
  5. In a large bowl, combine shredded chicken, diced ham, remaining cheeses, and the cheese sauce. Mix well.
  6. Transfer mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  7. In a small bowl, mix breadcrumbs with melted butter and sprinkle evenly over the casserole.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and the topping is golden brown.
  9. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra crunch, top the casserole with sliced almonds or substitute breadcrumbs with crushed Ritz crackers.
