Warm Apple Cinnamon Cake fresh from the oven

This moist and flavorful apple cinnamon cake is the perfect treat for fall. Loaded with fresh apples and warm spices, it’s a delightful dessert to enjoy with a cup of coffee or tea.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vegetable oil. Beat until well combined.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Fold in the chopped apples and nuts (if using).
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
